Bert's Toga Collection — Toga Rental Management System
Role: Lead Full-Stack Architect & Developer
Project Overview
Bert's Toga Collection is a full-stack multi-tenant web application built to digitize and streamline academic regalia (toga, hood, cap, tassel) rental operations for graduation ceremonies across multiple schools and departments in the Philippines. Spanning 37 role-specific pages across 5 distinct access levels (Super Admin, Sub Super Admin, School Admin, Department Staff, and Student), it handles the complete rental lifecycle with digital signatures, CSV batch validation, QR code scanning, and automated penalty/refund settlements.
Key Challenges
- Engineering a robust multi-tenant data architecture with Row Level Security (RLS) ensuring strict isolation across schools and departments.
- Implementing a smart penalty engine for automatic late return fines (₱500/day) and itemized missing garment charges.
- Restricting batch-scoped announcement emails to current graduation cohorts while preventing spam to previous batches.
Approach & Outcomes
- Successfully architected 37 portal pages with real-time rental status visual timelines for students.
- Delivered automated deposit refund logic (₱200) and instant penalty clearing upon admin settlement.
- Integrated QR code counter lookups and CSV batch graduate validation for seamless distribution and return workflows.
